Gabriel's Preschool End of Year Program

Gabriel's school had an end of the year program where all the kids sang (except my child) and the four-year-olds "graduated" from preschool. It was cute - and they all got ice cream sundaes at the end. My dad and step mother made it along with Jonathan.

Now we're out for the summer (sniff...sniff...) but, Gabriel will be in the 2-year old class next year (barely misses the cutoff!), rather than the mother's-morning-out. So, we look forward to him learning big things next year!! Chemistry, Calculus....aeronautical engineering...

Notice the silky dog blanket that he carries EVERYWHERE
This is a cute picture, you'd never know that he just stood there like this the entire time...until he sat down. The little girl next to him was a serious drama queen.
Daddy's so proud of his little man.
Everyone is in line for ice cream
GeeDa didn't know that there were sprinkles up there!
Daddy did!

5 Years.....and a lifetime to go

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this weekend. My mother kept Gabriel for 2 days, and we had such a nice time together.

Mr. Turtle

We found a turtle...kept it for a few days...I think it got depressed, so we set it free.

Gabriel was sad to see it go.

Jonathan and Gabriel take on the Wild West

Saturday morning, Jonathan took Gabriel to a Wild West parkish area nearby. It had a train...that was enough for Gabriel to have fun. Somehow....they ended up with all these girls around them... hmmmmm....

The train was held up by robbers...
They told everyone on the train to "put your hands up" ...Gabriel did...with Thomas in hand.
I'm not sure about this one....

Thomas Town at Six Flags

Gabriel and I hit Six Flags as soon as they opened this morning - 10:30. I knew it was going to rain this afternoon, so I figured that we should go ahead and play outside for a bit. I was thrilled. LOVE six flags. Especially with a two year old...that gets tired and wants me to carry him all the way back to the car. :o) But, no, we/he had a good time.

I took him on Monster Plantation, thinking it wasn't bad at all - forgetting what it seemed like to a small child. I had to cover his face for some of it, but afterwards he told me "it's all right mommy, it's toys". So, we rode it again. They also have Thomas Town open, which is the real reason for the visit. And low and behold, his favorite part was the train table in the gift shop. HE HAS A TRAIN TABLE AT HOME! But, he rode Annie, which was pulled by Thomas. And he even hugged Sir Toplin Hat. (I thought he was a little creepy...and Gabriel wanted me to hug him as well!)

Mother's Day Lunch

We met up with my mother and grandparents for mother's day. So, here is the one picture I have to show. :o)

(And one of my guys)

Baron Chewey Von Chunkybottom

This is our new addition to our family. It was my mother's day gift, and he is the cutest little flat faced thing!! He is around 4 months, and weighs 3 pounds. The dogs are adjusting....slowly. But, Gabriel is crazy about him, and likes to cuddle with him first thing in the morning.

Happy Mother's Day

I'm wishing all my "mother"-friends a very Happy Mother's Day. Being a mother is absolutely the greatest acomplishment of my life. For so long, I was not sure of what I wanted to do, or who I wanted to be - but God showed me where I belonged in the world on Sept. 19, 2005. I thank God daily for the blessings He has given us.

Here is a little e-mail I got that I thought I would post for all of you mothers, and mothers-to-be. (And then just a few special pictures of my little love.)

Love, Amy, Jonathan & Gabriel

Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.Pooped on.Chewed on.Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so importantand happy.
Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes tomake sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Gabriel's First School Picture

His pre-preschool had pictures - and I think it is a perfect first picture!
